Hustle Hunters was created out of a challenging job search process that ultimately resulted in meaningful work with a balance that made a huge difference in my life.

I left a job doing tech sales after having my daughter Izzy and knowing that the travel schedule required to succeed in that role wasn’t a strain that I was looking to take on. I was able to consult for that company for a while, but then began my search for a new job.

I wanted to work part-time, which for me meant about 60% time, or 3 days/week. My first learning from this process was that there are not many part-time job posts amongst tech companies. So I began applying to full-time positions and letting people know that ideally, this would be a part-time role for me. I was met with the same line over and over “we don’t do that” which led me to think that A) these are start-ups, they can do whatever they want and B) this seems to be a trend across the industry.

I finally met the Milk Stork team, who although a bit scared of what “part-time” could mean, was game to give it a go as their entire business exists to help moms have the balance they want. I never knew that a job (and its structure) could bring me so much joy and fulfillment across multiple facets of my life.

Since starting my 3 days/week role with Milk Stork, I am approached by moms constantly asking how to get a role like mine. Every mom that I speak with about this would jump at the chance to reduce their work hours (and pay), while maintaining a role with strong contribution to the organization. These are marketers, web designers, lawyers, who either go back to full-time work and are overwhelmed, or are cobbling together a bunch of projects on their own. These are incredibly skilled women, who are ready to continue working on big projects while also raising the next generation. The big thing they are missing is the opportunity.

That’s why I began this business, and I’m constantly inspired by the people I meet who are hustling and accomplishing great and meaningful work while simultaneously raising amazing humans.
