Personalization is Paramount for Reputation!

Just a few of the B2B Lead Generation Pitches I’ve received this week as a Business Leader

Are you wary of these types of inquiries where folks offer to represent your brand in a way that alludes to volume? So am I!!

Our reputation is something I guard and hold very closely - and don’t trust just anyone to represent us in the world, especially in a selling context.

We know that this sentiment is true on the hiring side as well - and take it very seriously when we are the first point of contact with candidates who are just learning about the company.

We are so grateful when clients trust us to be that brand ambassador, and honor that trust by really learning about the leaders (as we all know that joining a startup is really betting on the leadership), culture, goals, impact and values. While nobody can replicate the excitement of a founder, we’re determined to get as close as we can, while maintaining transparency in all of the information we share with candidates while helping them explore the opportunity and determining if it’s worth their pursuit.

Sometimes this is a sticking point as it takes mutually invested time to get to know each other at this level - but we all deserve partners who want to get to know us, and push us to make this time - knowing that we can’t get to personalized success without it.

“I don’t usually respond to recruiter outreach… but yours was so personalized I’m intrigued” - Sentiment we hear almost daily from the amazing (and often “passive” in terms of how they aren’t actively looking for opportunities) candidates we engage with on behalf of client roles

We get these responses all the time and while it’s humbling to see how low the bar for 1:1 contact is (so many folks are amazed we even read their profiles before reaching out), it’s a joy to be part of an interaction that leaves folks feeling seen, valued and human.

Whether it’s representing our organizations to generate leads, or as a talent partner - we should all be asking how they plan to learn enough to adequately represent our brand. And how respondents have felt when receiving their outreach in the past.

We’re all building really important impactful innovations - we deserve to have our stories told by folks who really care and are dedicated to our visions.

Reach out if you’d like to learn more about how we represent our startup and scaleup partners with a focus on their stories and transparency!
